Our Purpose

The Brothers gather around the gravesite monument that marks the future gravesites of the Friars at All Souls Cemetery. The words: "Never be first always be last" inscribed at the foot of the momument were the words that John Paul II said to Br. Richard upon receiving the Constitutions of the Order.

The purpose of the Association, which is dedicated to the Apostolate, is for it's members to strive for personal holiness while giving all honor and glory to God.

The friars are to participate in the liturgical life of the parishes in which they reside, especially in the daily celebration of the Eucharist when possible.

Our View of the World

The Friars of the Sick Poor are committed to seeing the world through the eyes of the sick-poor and the marginalized.

We strive to respond to the most urgent and timely needs, using all means possible to care for the spiritual, emotional and physical needs of God's people.

Many Opportunities

The friars are always mindful that the Church provides them opportunities to assist the faithful of a parish or the sick-poor they minister among, to gather in communal prayer, praying for their own particular needs and for the needs of the whole Church.

The friars also promote the gospel values of respect and dignity of all persons, assisting and guiding individuals in developing their relationships with God through their commitment to availability and spiritual direction among the sick-poor.

Wherever there is a Need

Whenever and wherever the pastoral need arises, the friars are open to other missions, which are in need of the apostolate and charism, of our Community.

We are contemporary mendicants; being self-employed, working among the sick-poor and marginalized that we serve and minister to.
